#6 Kishin Shinoyama
by Allison H.
Kishin Shinoyama is a Japanese photographer, best known for portraits and nudes. I really like how he expresses through the art of nudity. Shadows are beautifully composed. There is always strong and emotional impact of each photographed person, though facial expressions are not shown in some of the photos, I can still sense some kind of tension. The way he photographs is quite affective.

The juxtaposition of the nude model and the nature is quite interesting to me, especially because of the significant difference in scale. The female looks more like an architecture which towers over the landscape, static and silent, making the rest of the image small and insignificant. I think the framing of her partial body somehow adds more to the image.
